2006 was a bad year for Hungary.
In August, the annual constitution day fireworks turned
into a nightmare when an unexpectedly severe thunderstorm
hit the celebrating crowd causing mass hysteria and several
deaths. In October, the 1956 revolution was re-enacted on
its 50th anniversary by anti-government rioters and brutal
police squads clashing on the streets of Budapest.
The country is going downhill ever since thanks to its
corrupt politicians.
2006 was also a particularly bad year for Iraqi dictator
Saddam Hussein, who was hanged a day before New Year's Eve.
